For High-Achievers, Changemakers, and People Who Want More

Therapy isn’t the only path to transformation. Coaching is for those who are ready to take intentional action, gain clarity, and align with their values—but who don’t necessarily need clinical mental health treatment.

Whether you're navigating big decisions, breaking generational patterns, launching something new, or simply ready to stop playing small—coaching offers a judgment-free space to get strategic, honest, and empowered.

Coaching vs. Therapy: What’s the Difference?

Coaching is growth-oriented and focused on helping high-functioning individuals set goals, clarify values, and take meaningful action. It does not involve diagnosis or mental health treatment and is not covered by insurance.

Therapy involves the diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions. It includes clinical documentation, is governed by state licensing laws, and may be reimbursed by insurance if medically necessary.

Here’s a breakdown:

  • Coaching is for personal growth and clarity; therapy is for emotional healing and symptom relief.

  • Coaching clients are typically functioning well; therapy clients may be in distress or navigating a mental health condition.

  • Coaching does not include diagnosis, medical records, or insurance paperwork.

  • Therapy requires a therapist-client relationship, with legal and ethical protections.

  • Coaching can be provided across state lines; therapy is limited to states where the provider is licensed.

If you're not sure which is right for you, feel free to reach out—we can talk it through.

Coaching Disclaimer

Coaching services are distinct from therapy and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or manage any mental health conditions.

  • Coaching does not create a therapist-client relationship.

  • No clinical documentation, diagnosis, or insurance superbills will be provided.

  • Coaching clients must not be engaged in therapy with Dr. Ariel Place at the same time.

If you are currently a therapy client and are interested in coaching instead, we can discuss how to ethically and legally transition your care.
